SCHOOL OF THE DIVINE CHILD PROCLAMATION 2016
Irishmen, Women and Children: For people of all beliefs, and generations of the past, present and future, show your Irishness by being seen.
We come to school to be happy & safe, to explore our environment, to understand our history & to be proud of our wonderful culture. To recite poetry, to sing songs, to play music, to take part in sport and to make friends.
To succeed in this we have a right to resources, technology, books and the wisdom of the best teachers and special needs assistants in the country.
We are lucky to have a Student Council for making decisions that are important to each and every one of us. It gives us the right to speak out and give our opinion on topics that effect our lives. We liaise with the principal and pass information on to teachers and students.
We claim the right to freedom and equal opportunities in all areas of our lives. As members of a community, we deserve equal rights, to be treated fairly, to be seen, to be heard and to be listened to. Nobody should be excluded or discriminated in terms of age, disability or gender.
We place this proclamation before you as part of our 1916 celebration in being members of this school community, and this proud nation.
