Welcome to the official website of the School of the Divine Child, Lavanagh Centre, Cork.  Situated in Ballintemple village, the school was custom built for students with physical and multiple disabilities.  We are proud of the role we play in the education of students with disabilities and of the successes achieved by our students.

The school of the Divine Child is a special school funded by the Department of Education and Skills.  Our school is co-educational and students range in age from 4 to 19 years of age.  Our pupil teacher ratio is 6:1.  We offer a primary and post primary education.

Mission Statement

Our aim is to enable individuals to achieve their potential in order that they can participate as fully as possible within their local communities and society in general.
We provide each student with opportunities to develop attitudes and skills for life long learning.

Patron and Board of Management.
The School of the Divine Child is under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Cork and Ross.
